About WEMS 24

Williamstown-Williams Township Community Ambulance was founded in June of 1964.  In 1993, the name was shortened to Williamstown Area EMS, Inc and has been called that ever since.  While striving to meet the needs of the residents of Williamstown Boro, Williams Township & Wiconisco Twp,  We are able to respond to about 600 9-1-1 calls each year.  Ever since the founding of our organization, we have always been able to staff each ambulance with members that are proud to be called VOLUNTEERS.  Our organization is the only EMS Station in the Upper Dauphin County that is only staffed by VOLUNTEERS.  Williamstown Area EMS, Inc is ONE of TWO 100% VOLUNTEER EMS Companies still In-Service today in Dauphin County. The other 100% VOLUNTEER EMS Unit is the Londonderry Fire Dept Ambulance.

We operate (1) Ford E-450 Osage ambulance "24-1" and (1) F-450 Osage ambulance "24-2" that are always in "Perfect" Condition inside and out.  Take a Look at the EMS Units in the PHOTO GALLERY SECTION of the Website.

WEMS JUST ORDERED A 2012 CHEVY 4500 DIESEL TYPE III ROAD RESCUE AMBULANCE WHICH IS BEING BUILT AT THE ROAD RESCUE FACTORY IN WINTER PARK, FLORIDA. PICTURES WILL BE PLACED ON THE WEBSITE AS WE GET THEM ONCE THE UNIT STARTS BEING BUILT. THANKS TO THE "NEW AMBULANCE" COMMITTEE AND J AND J EMERGENCY VEHICLES ...

In May 2009 the company Purchased a 2009 Type I F-450 WARRIOR 4WD made by Osage.  This Unit is the only 4WD EMS Unit in Upper Dauphin County.  The Winter of 2009-2010 dumped heavy snow in the Upper Dauphin County Area on several occassions. This Unit encountered No Problems while transporting Medical / Trauma Patients to area hospitals with the Closest Trauma Center being 45 Miles from town while keeping the VOLUNTEER CREW safe on each Emergency Dispatch.

" VOLUNTEERS DON'T NECESSARILY HAVE THE TIME, BUT THEY HAVE THE HEART "
